Conveniently located 54kms to Condamine and 110kms to the regional centre of Roma, QLD.Moira Runda was purchased by Paraway in 2018 and aggregated following the purchase of 2 adjoining properties, Murilla in 2021 and Lonesome in 2022. The properties provide diversification for Paraway’s finishing capabilities, advantageous due to proximity to markets. Moira Runda has approximately 1,800ha’s of developed dryland cultivation country which complements the cattle finishing business growing fodder crops for grazing. The Murilla and Lonesome country primarily consists of improved Buffel pastures. The business background approximately 6,000 head of cattle which are internally sourced from the Paraway Northern properties.The position is ideally suited to someone who has one or more years’ experience in the agriculture industry and is looking to further develop their knowledge and skills, with on-the-job training and development provided. The successful candidate will have previous experience in or willingness to learn:Cattle handling and livestock welfareSome understanding or interest in grazing and pasture managementCompetence in operating farm machineryCropping knowledge (not essential but helpful))General farm knowledge and skills, i.e. fencing, maintenance of waters.Mechanical knowledgeCompetence in basic record keeping and an eye for detail.Above all we are seeking someone with a positive attitude, a good work ethic, strong communication skills, enjoys working in a team and has a willingness to learn.The successful applicant will be required to live on farm with single accommodation and utilities provided.
